Featuring a remarkable collection of the House’s trunks, cases and bags, the exhibition L'Art de vivre à la française showcases how the House’s historic exploration of travel is also a contemporary voyage into the “art of French living”.
The Avenue Montaigne store will be transformed into a cabinet of curiosities for such iconic items as the legendary Stokowski Desk Trunk (1930), the Library Trunk (Ernest Hemingway’s favourite), and the most recent addition: a skateboard case designed as part of the House’s collaboration with Supreme.
There will also be Classic Wardrobe trunks sharing a colourful and cosy space with a Desk trunk, now perfect for arranging shoes at home, and relaxing Objets Nomades, such as the Campana Brothers’ Cocoon hanging pod chair and Marcel Wanders’ exquisite rocking chair. A space dedicated to jewellery will highlight trunks and cases created to transport personal treasures including watches, alongside a wide range of precious bags in exotic leathers, all bathing in the reflected golden light of Tokujin Yoshioka’s Objets Nomades Blossom stool.
Demonstrations by artisans will provide inspiration for painting unique designs and initials on favourite Louis Vuitton pieces, a traditional method of customization.
