The exhibition “Steve McQueen” is taking place at the Espace culturel in Tokyo now through August 17th, 2014.

Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo presents a new and original work by the acclaimed British artist and filmmaker, Steve McQueen, who was awarded most recently a 2014 Academy for Best Picture among a long list of accolades.

Created with an extreme economy of means, his work hovers between the personal and the universal, the literal and the abstract, evading specific definitions and multiplying experiential and interpretive possibilities.

Unveiled for the first time, this new commission, created with the support of the Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo brings together various elements of McQueen 's creative signature. It delivers the viewer into a highly sensory experience where both visual and sonic components come together to create the possibility for self-reflection and even self-revelation.
