Until March 31st, Espace Louis Vuitton München presents the exhibition Animitas by French artist Christian Boltanski, in the framework of the Fondation Louis Vuitton « Hors-les-murs » project.

Showing four pieces from the Collection, this exhibition is centered on two video installations: Animitas (2014) and Animitas (Blanc) (2017).
Animitas is one of Boltanski’s most ambitious recent projects: creating outdoor installations within expanses of desert, using bells to echo the configuration of stars on the night of his birth: September 6, 1944. Animitas (2014) was shot in the desert of Atacama (Chile) and Animitas (Blanc) (2017) on Quebec’s Île d’Orléans (Canada). In Munich, Boltanski presents his films in conjunction with a flower bed and grey, crumpled papers, which evolve with time and people over the course of the exhibition.
Between the two Animitas installations, the words Départ and Arrivée glow along the visitor's path, summarizing what life is according to the artist: a departure, an arrival, separated by the passing time.

From February 2nd to 18th 2018, clients will experience Louis Vuitton's long tradition of beautifully crafted travel objects for the first time in Frankfurt.

Created in 2012, the Objets Nomades collection keeps alive Louis Vuitton's long tradition of beautifully crafted travel objects. Some of the world’s most renowned designers have since imagined stunning travel-inspired Objets, which have then been made by Louis Vuitton. The limited editions and experimental prototypes that make up the Objets Nomades collection all pay homage to the House's special orders of the past and add the defiantly contemporary visions of creative designers from around the world: Marcel Wanders, Atelier Oï, Maarten Baas, Barber and Osgerby, the Campana Brothers, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, India Mahdavi and Tokujin Yoshioka.

Today, there are more than 20 Objets Nomades, from a hammock to a deckchair, a swing chair to a foldable stool. Each project has been an opportunity for the designers and Louis Vuitton's creative artisans to combine their savoir-faire to interpret the idea of travel in their own imaginative ways. Each Objet embodies their shared ideals: a love of the beauty of fine materials, the possibility of forms and carefully balanced proportions, complex and meticulous craftsmanship, and close attention to detail.

In addition to a selection of the Objets Nomades collection, the Frankfurt store presents an exclusive selection of leather goods in exotic leathers. Please contact Louis Vuitton Client Services to arrange your private appointment with a Client Advisor.
