• ESPACE LOUIS VUITTON BEIJING : RICHARD PRINCE

ESPACE LOUIS VUITTON BEIJING : RICHARD PRINCE - Louis Vuitton Art & Travel NEWS
For its third exhibition, the Espace Louis Vuitton Beijing presents Cowboys, a presentation dedicated to Richard Prince.

Prince is a major proponent of appropriation art, deconstructing the mechanisms of representation and communication promoted by American popular culture. The three Cowboys series, selected from the Collection as part of the Fondation Louis Vuitton « Hors-les-murs » program, show the mythical figure of the cowboy turned into a complex object by the means of ‘re-photography’, expressing a feeling of nostalgia for a foundational period while highlighting its stereotype through the use of “clichés”.

  • FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON: NEW EXHIBITION

FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON: NEW EXHIBITION - Louis Vuitton Art & Travel NEWS
Throughout the galleries of the Frank Gehry building, "In Tune with the World" unveils a new selection of artists from the Collection, bringing together modern and contemporary works.

More than a simple hanging of works, "In Tune with the World" (11th April - 27th August 2018) is intended to be an exhibition based on a specific theme. This reflects today’s questions about man’s place in the universe and the bonds that tie him to his surrounding environment and living world, highlighting the interconnections between humans, animals, plants, and even inanimate objects.

Two complementary sequences cover the entire building: an immersion into the world of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Man in the living universe, bringing together 28 French and international artists from different generations and techniques, among them Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti, Yves Klein, François Morellet and Pierre Huyghe.
