The Objets Nomades Collection, enriched with 10 new items, will be presented during Fuori Salone in Milan, from April 4th to 9th at Palazzo Bocconi.

Created in 2012, the Objets Nomades collection keeps alive Louis Vuitton’s long tradition of beautifully crafted travel objects. Some of the world’s most renowned designers have since imagined stunning travel-inspired Objets, which have then been made by Louis Vuitton.

The limited editions and experimental prototypes that make up the Objets Nomades collection all pay homage to the House’s special orders of the past and add the defiantly contemporary visions of creative designers from around the world: Atelier Oï, Maarten Baas, Barber and Osgerby, the Campana Brothers, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders, and, most recently, India Mahdavi and Tokujin Yoshioka.

Today, there are 25 Objets Nomades and 10 among them will be presented for the first time during Fuori Salone in Milano. From a hammock to a deckchair, from a swing chair to a foldable stool. Each Objet embodies the same ideals: a love of the beauty of fine materials, the possibility of forms and carefully balanced proportions, complex and meticulous craftsmanship, and close attention to detail.

  • LAST CHANCE TO VISIT THE EXHIBITION AT FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON

The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents the exhibition "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection" until 5 March 2017.

The exhibition pays tribute to one of the early 20th century’s greatest art patrons, Sergei Shchukin, a visionary collector of French modern art. The 130 works on loan from the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg demonstrate the collector’s daring artistic choices and the swiftness with which he brought together one of the most significant collections of modern art, including works by Monet, Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, Cézanne, Le Douanier Rousseau, and Derain, amongst many other artists. The exhibition also highlights the vivid dialogue between French modern art and the rising Russian avant-garde art, featuring works by artists such as Malevitch, Rodtchenko, Tatlin and Gontcharova who were familiar with the Shchukin collection.
Between 27 February and 5 March, the Fondation will open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (and until 1 a.m. on Saturday, 4 March). Enjoy these exceptional extended hours to admire from dawn to night time the masterpieces collected by Sergei Shchukin, which are now gathered for the first time outside of Russia.
Immerse yourself  in the collection’s history and let yourself be swept into the colourful hues of Matisse or Gauguin.

The Espace Louis Vuitton München continues its celebration of female artistic ingenuity in 2016 with a new monographic exhibition from the critically-acclaimed British artist, Tacita Dean.

From October 14, 2016 to March 25, 2017, the Espace continues its celebration of female artistic ingenuity with the exhibition Tacita Dean. Dean has made film and photography her mediums of predilection. Also using drawing, painting and sound installation among other techniques, she tracks the effects of time to celebrate the fragility of human endeavor and the timeless context of nature. Her detective-like interest in seemingly mundane moments results in works that are inquisitive, precise, and poetic.

Within the framework of the Fondation Louis Vuitton Hors-les-murs project, Tacita Dean brings together five major works from the Fondation’s collection and one work of the artist’s choice to illustrate the great diversity of her oeuvre during the last decade. At the same time, it provides a testimony to Dean’s unique and highly poetic artistic language, with which she plays in a virtuoso manner across all media.
