• REOPENING ON 24TH OCTOBER: THE NEW BOND STREET MAISON

    The doors to 17-20 New Bond Street, home to Louis Vuitton since 2010, will reopen on 24th October.

    After 14 months of renovations, 17-20 New Bond Street will reopen on 24th October, unveiling a metamorphosis that has transformed the store, where two different buildings are combined into one new location. Louis Vuitton’s first international store outside of France was in London, opening at 289 Oxford Street on 1st March 1885, and the brand has celebrated the city’s spirit ever since.

    The complete reimagining of the space on New Bond street, starting from its reconstructed exterior to its new generation of interiors, was rendered by New York based architect Peter Marino. Complete with illustrious artwork and giant architectural spaces, the store features seating and furniture custom made by Marino, who also curated important vintage pieces from designers including Enzo Mari and Pierre Paulin.

    Louis Vuitton unveils an exclusive new perfumed candle in support of (RED)'s fight to end AIDS

    The mission of (RED), the organization created by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006, is to transform the collective power of consumers into a force for good. Taking the color red as his inspiration, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud selected the finest-quality natural ingredients to develop the candle’s fragrance, creating an olfactory experience that evokes the universal emotions of love, freedom, warmth, and purity. By blending a peony’s sweet, peppery and floral olfactory notes with the fruity vibrancy of raspberries, the burning candle becomes alive with harmony, optimism, and emotive pleasure. Rich in character, yet subtle, instantly transforming the home into a haven of comfort.

    A closer look at the latest Louis Vuitton Women's Collection, in Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière's own words.

    What is the inspiration behind this collection?
    It reflects the somewhat forgotten period of the Belle Époque. Though relatively short, this period between the end of the 19th century and the First World War was one of France’s most prestigious. It was the time of Universal Exhibitions, such as the one during which the Eiffel Tower was unveiled. It was a time of excitement and tremendous change. It’s about revisiting all that. We wanted to explore notions about what’s outdated and old-fashioned, and nostalgia for a time we can only dream about, and how to make it all relevant for today. In particular, it was about looking at dandyism and these very particular snobberies that later would become what the world now knows as French elegance.

    Please explain the accessories?
    We have a new bag, the "Blade", which is deliberately very classic, with refined signatures that reprise elements from trunks and have inner gussets of bracket-like precision. The "Dauphine" bag is revisited in new shapes and materials. There are also transformable pouches that become little backpacks, change purses... We have revisited shapes recalling the Belle Époque. The shoes are flirty little moccasins with brightly colored patches. There are also brooches, flowers, cattleyas and other orchids with incredible colors, a nod to this romantic period.
