    • THE MONOGRAM COLLECTION - Louis Vuitton Fashion NEWS
A collection of iconic symbols with universal power, the Monogram adds talismanic quality to a jewellery collection, creating scintillating pieces as captivating as the stars.

Symbolizing Fortune, the first motif is the four-point star. Stars and flowers with four petals are notably seen in Egyptian art of the IV century. A fortunate apparition, the star shines through the dark… a fixed point in the universe guiding us to our destiny.

The second motif is a four-petal flower symbolizing Joy. The flower sits inside a perfect circle, signifying protection and the absolute. Used in medieval architecture of the XI and XIV centuries, like a sun, the four-petal flower exudes a luminous aura of joy.

The final motif is the four-point star inside a diamond, symbolizing Passion. Like the ‘mon’ of Japanese XI century tradition - an emblem that identified lineage - it is a symbol of union. The star inside the diamond is the ultimate symbol of passionate love.

A collection of small leather goods inspired by Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s personal African mask collection

As exoticism became fashionable in the 1930s, Gaston-Louis had a taste for collecting and art objects, and was as infatuated with African art as the artists and aesthetes of his time. Music like jazz, ethnic instruments, and African masks brought a refreshing influence into the works of European painters, sculptors, and composers. Gaston-Louis was sensitive to these currents of expression. He collected representative items, which he asked friends to bring back from their travels.

These latest designs of small leather goods in fresh and dynamic colors, revisits this source of inspiration.

  • MEN FALL 2015 SHOW VIDEO – SHORT VERSION

A short edit of the Louis Vuitton Men Fall 2015 Show.

Taking place in the glass structure of the Parc André Citroën, the Louis Vuitton Men Fall 2015 collection continues to embrace the notions of craftsmanship and creativity in the field of fashion. For his 8th collection, Kim Jones celebrates the life of designer and artist Christopher Nemeth.

I think Christopher Nemeth is the most important designer to come out of London alongside Vivienne Westwood” says Kim Jones, the Men’s Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton. “He is Savile Row, he is the street, he is the club… his designs define London. He trained as a fine artist and came into fashion from being an illustrator, and that chimes with how I started. I can see the influence of his work in so many collections, and yet it is not often acknowledged and still seems unknown to many. That’s why, as we approach the fifth anniversary of his death, I wanted to openly celebrate Christopher Nemeth’s life and work this season at Louis Vuitton.
