Upcoming exhibition - From 19 June to 29 September 2019

The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents for the first time a significant selection of works from its Collection at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow: sixty pieces, by over twenty french and international artists, produced between 1947 and 2018.

This "Hors les murs" presentation represents the Fondation's commitment to modern and contemporary art. The curaturial choices for the exhibition have taken into account the specificities of the Pushkin State Museum and features a variety of monographic series and powerful works, from different media.

Two spaces are dedicated to the Fondation's achitecture by Frank Gehry. Models, drawings, videos and panoramic photos are displayed, allowing the Russian public to picture the Fondation as an achitectural entity, as well as in its Parisian environment, at the heart of the Bois de Boulogne.

Collection of Fondation Louis Vuitton: Selected Works is presented in conjunction with  another exhibition devoted to the Shchukin Collection. These two prominent collections will help visitors trace the similarities and differences in the collectors’ approaches and the evolution of contemporary art collecting from the early 20th to the early 21st centuries.

Celebrating a night of imaginative time travel through a visual journey, Louis Vuitton welcomed guests into Time Capsule Exhibition in Chengdu on June 7th.

The Louis Vuitton Time Capsule exhibiton was celebrated with Shi Zhan, Fu Jing, Bai Jing Ting, Qi Wei and Lee Seung Hyun for the opening.

From the beginning, Louis Vuitton has been defined by a pioneering spirit. Just like Louis Vuitton, the city of Chengdu embodies the same values of tradition and history all while looking forward to the future. Since the opening of “Louis Vuitton Exhibition 1997-1998” in Chengdu in 1997, Chengdu has been one of the most important cities in China market.  Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li, one of the most cherished cultural and influential destinations in Chengdu is the ideal place for bringing together Louis Vuitton’s values of travel and innovation.

To mark Time Capsule Exhibition’s arrival in Chengdu, Louis Vuitton has chosen to highlight several pieces with references to the connection between Louis Vuitton and China. Conceived for artist Xu Bing, the calligraphy trunk contains his tools, carefully adorned in a version of the celebrated Monogram canvas. A special tea trunk was also imagined by Wang Jun Qing of the Wang De Chuan Tea House, to celebrate the tasting of tea. The Mahjong box was created by Louis Vuitton for the popular Chinese game that requires complex skills and fun.

Untold stories about renowned Chinese clients will be featured in the exhibition as well: 1930’s Socialite Madame Koo proclaims her fondness for the brand in her personal diaries where she lauds her many trunks between tales of politics and parties. We also find the personal order files of Leslie Cheung, Hollywood actress Anna May Wong, as well as a briefcase belonging to internationally-known architect Ieoh Ming Pei, among others.
