To celebrate Rugby World Cup 2015, Louis Vuitton has designed a special case to carry the iconic Webb Ellis Cup, Rugby’s greatest prize.

Louis Vuitton is proud to support Rugby World Cup 2015, starting on September 18th, in London’s Twickenham stadium. The special order case will appear on October 31st, the day of the final, which will mark Louis Vuitton’s debut in the world of Rugby.

This special order for Rugby World Cup perpetuates Louis Vuitton's long tradition of creating elegant and ingenious cases for travellers to transport their most precious belongings.

Handmade in Louis Vuitton's historic Asnières workshop near Paris, the case has been meticulously designed to accommodate the celebrated Trophy, which will be presented to the winning captain at the Final on October 31st. Covered in Louis Vuitton's iconic Monogram canvas, the travel case is fitted with the company's signature brass lock and corners.

The workshop also crafted the trunk that holds the world's oldest sporting trophy, the famous silver ewer of the America's Cup, which dates back to 1851. More recently, Louis Vuitton specially designed the trophy case for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy.

Louis Vuitton has chosen actor and director Xavier Dolan as the male face of Louis Vuitton’s new advertising campaign. The campaign shot by Alasdair McLellan celebrates Ombré, Louis Vuitton’s recent line of leather goods, featuring two iconic bags – the Keepall and the Cartable.

Since he first stepped on the scene at only 20 years old with his debut feature film J’ai tué ma mère, Xavier Dolan has been referred to as “Quebec cinema’s boy wonder”. His fifth feature film, Mommy (2014) won the Jury Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. At only 26 years old, he was selected to be on the 2015 Cannes Film Festival jury presided over by the Cohen brothers, becoming the youngest member ever.

2016 will see Xavier Dolan release his sixth film Juste la fin du monde and will also mark the release of his first English-language film, The Death and Life and John F. Donovan.
