Louis Vuitton captures the world of textiles and accessories with the world's largest hot air balloon animation from October 19th 2018 to January 6th 2019, at the Marina Bay Sands Island Maison

The hot air balloon, an image intricately linked to Louis Vuitton and its defining spirit of travel, is found throughout the store. Visitors to the Island Maison will be greeted by a hot air balloon in half ascent, and an invitation to discover the silk squares alongside shawls, scarves, bandeaus and stoles. The lively presence of the silk square is brought to life through a whimsical tunnel complete with digital screens, hot air balloon lanterns hanging from the ceiling, atop a snaking path inspired by the Louis Vuitton Jeu de Louis print.

The highlight of the animation culminates in the form of a five-metre tall hot air balloon, with an envelope made entirely from a colourful collage of silk squares. The hot air balloon gondola consists of a variety of Louis Vuitton hard-sided trunks, a reference to the House’s original Aero Trunk that was first created in 1906 by the grandson of Louis Vuitton, Gaston Louis, for hot air balloon travels.

As part of the animation exclusives, the Marina Bay Sands Island Maison will also carry pre-launches of silk square designs before the rest of the world: Vendome, Your Highness and Angels.

With its refined design, bold colours and versatility, discover the many charms of the Louis Vuitton silk square at Marina Bay Sands Island Maison.

A playful look at the latest Louis Vuitton collaboration with Grace Coddington

Audacious irreverence animates timeless luxury. Grace Coddington's iconoclastic style meets Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière's fascination with eccentricity in this capsule of the Cruise 2019 Collection. A mutual adoration of animals was the starting point for this collaboration, adorning accessories, leather goods, and more with an interplay of cat and dog illustrations and the Maison's Monogram motif.

  • FASHION EYE SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS

FASHION EYE SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS - Louis Vuitton Art & Travel NEWS
Synonymous with the art of travel since 1854, Louis Vuitton is adding another five titles to its Fashion Eye series of photography books.

This fall, five photographers invite us to travel to new horizons: Cretto di Burri by Olivier Toscani, Iran by Harley Weir, Geneva by Paul Rousteau, Silk Road by Kishin Shinoyama and Bali by Quentin de Briey. Each book evokes a city, a region or a country, seen through the eyes of a fashion photographer.

As the most recent addition to the Éditions Louis Vuitton line-up, Fashion Eye brings a new dimension to the range of Travel Books conceived by the luxury house. After the City Guides offering a refreshing and offbeat perspective on familiar and less familiar metropolises, and the Travel Books rekindling the idea of the artist’s notebook, with this third collection travel photography indirectly showcases fashion, thanks to the talents of photographers most often noted for their work in this field.
