Louis Vuitton supports UNICEF who is on the ground working to meet the immediate needs of affected children and their families in the wake of the Cyclone Idai and the Cyclone Kenneth.

In March and April, Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe were hit by two cyclones in succession, devastating everything in their path.
3 million people, more than half of whom are children, today need humanitarian assistance.

Since 2016, thanks to your support, Louis Vuitton has raised more than 7 million euros for UNICEF to help children in emergencies.
Some of this amount, more than € 300,000, will help vulnerable children and their families in East African countries affected by these natural disasters.

Like them, 1.6 million children today need urgent and vital help.
You can help them and #MAKEAPROMISE by making a direct donation to UNICEF: https://help.unicef.org/help-children-affected-cyclone-idai-lv

Louis Vuitton unveils its Pre Fall-Winter 2019 and Staples Edition collections by Virgil Abloh at an exclusive pop-up space in Manchester Selfridges, from 24th May until 19th June.

The collection nods at the travel centric heritage of Louis Vuitton, inspired by Japan in both style and colours that draw on everyday Japanese uniforms found in public service, outdoor pursuits and sports. Key items include windbreakers, sweaters and t-shirts adorned in multi emblems and graphics that include Dr Martin Luther King Jr. speech extracts. King's prose continues on leather goods and accessories including the keepall, as well as new styles such as the chalk backpack and flat messenger.

The pop-up space will also exclusively feature Abloh's Louis Vuitton Staples Edition. Informed by the idea of wardrobe staples, the standalone collection refines the essential garments and accessories that form the foundation of a man's dress components. The collection consecrates contemporary ideas of wardrobe essentials through pieces rooted in sportswear, normcore and the casual dress code. Finishing touches include a branded metal staple and a signature Stapes Edition label, featuring information on how to fold your special item, so it is ready for travel.

The bright white pop-up space will also be accentuated with quotes on lightboxes and stacked up speakers.

Address: Menswear on 1, 1 Exchange Square Selfridges, Manchester M3 1BD

Open 10am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday. 10am to 5:30pm on Sunday.

Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Collection Fall-Winter 2019 explores the rationale of the very concept, principles, and objectives of a pre-collection.

Virgil Abloh confronts and exercises the creative constraints of a pre-collection in his first offering of its kind at Louis Vuitton. The Men’s Artistic Director roots the collection in the wardrobe staples associated with outdoor pursuits, from sailing jackets and hiking sneakers to sporting-inspired logo graphics. Japan is a recurring influence and motif, directly referenced through imagery of Mount Fuji or more subtly with a Japanese check pattern. Actors Ashton Sanders and Duke Nicholson were chosen to embody the idiosyncratic and intuitive style imbued by Virgil Abloh in this collection that furthers his ongoing seasonal explorations for Louis Vuitton.
