• CELEBRITIES INTERVIEWS DURING THE OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION

    Celebrities and friends of the House share their thoughts on the many facets of “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton” as it plays out in New York.

    Guests traveled from all over the world to attend inauguration of “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton” at the former American Stock Exchange in New York. The special event evoked the past while celebrating the present.

    Discover in this video what caught the eye of the celebrities who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Michelle Williams enjoyed the presentation of the Maison’s history within a landmark New York building, while Jennifer Connelly pointed out the striking parallel between the Old-World train car staging and the New York subway wall. For Adèle Exarchopoulos, the exhibition transported her back in time; for Ruth Negga, the history of luggage proved most fascinating. Laura Harrier was surprised by the recreated travel scenes; Jaden Smith appeared impressed by this newly presented view of Louis Vuitton’s heritage. Riley Keogh expressed her gratitude in being a part of the moment.

    A modern and refined space dedicated to the second chapter of "Masters".

    Opened last May, the Louis Vuitton permanent Pop-up store of Rinascente Milano Piazza Duomo is today dedicated to the second chapter of “Masters” - the limited edition created in collaboration with artist Jeff Koons.
    Until mid November, all the clients of the Maison will have the chance to discover the new "Masters" which include: Reclining Girl by Francois Boucher, Delightful Land by Paul Gauguin, Luncheon on the grass by Edouard Manet, The Water Lilies by Claude Monet, Triumph of Pan by Nicolas Poussin (exclusive for Maison Louis Vuitton Vendome) and Ancient Rome by J.M.W. Turner.
    The space is customized in a unique way. While the main works of the second chapter of "Masters" stand on the walls, the famous Jeff Koons's Gazing Balls in blue metal are thrust into the center of the Pop-up store. They balance on plaster statues and reflect on their surface the surrounding space. The blue floor becomes a water mirror that amplifies, along with the stools, the game of reflexes in a pleasant balance of contrasts.

    From November 11, 2017 to March 31, 2018, the Espace Louis Vuitton München is honoured to present Animitas, by French artist Christian Boltanski.

    Since the 1970s, famous French artist Christian Boltanski has developed a highly personal oeuvre that largely consists of photographic and light installations combined with conceptual art. 

    From November 11, 2017 to March 31, 2018, the Espace is honoured to present Animitas, one of his most ambitious recent projects: creating outdoor installations in deserted places, using bells and haikus to echo the configuration of stars on the night of his birth: September 6, 1944. 

    Conceived in the framework of the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s “Hors-les-murs” program, this exhibition displays two video installations from the Collection, Animitas (2014), shot in the desert of Atacama (Chile) and Animitas (Blanc) (2017), filmed on Quebec’s Île d’Orléans (Canada), and brings together, in a meditative atmosphere, four pieces questioning the passing of time.

    For the first time, the Maison invites you to create a belt with your own selection of buckles and straps. With 240 possible combinations, My LV Belt ensures a unique and personalised belt adapted to each man’s individual taste.

    Choose from 14 leather straps, ranging from the reversible iconic Taurillon and calf leather straps in classic or playful color combinations, to the non-reversible exotics in ostrich or crocodile. The new 35 mm strap width delivers a modern and sophisticated touch.

    12 lighter and thinner redesigned buckles provide the ultimate finishing detail. The new offer ranges from iconic LV Signature buckles in shiny gold, palladium or ruthenium to twisted buckles, a reinterpretation of the classic LV buckle, by way of more precious, finely inlayed buckles with elegant olive wood or agata zebrata.

    Louis Vuitton presents actress Alicia Vikander as the embodiment of the 2018 Cruise Collection.

    Within a spectacular setting where sky and sea are at their purest, the 2018 Cruise campaign crystalizes the balance between strength and serenity at the heart of the collection.

    Lensed by photographer Patrick Demarchelier, the images feature Alicia Vikander accompanied by variations of the Twist and Capucine handbags. Transported from the show in Kyoto to this remote island of Ibiza, they stand out as striking signals of craftsmanship and design. Meanwhile, Alicia lingers through the landscape, her looks channeling the maverick spirit of Kansai Yamamoto whose vision inspired Nicolas Ghesquière this season. 

    References to Japanese ceremonial dress, samurai, traditional landscape artworks, and Kabuki theatre all emerge through pieces conceived as streamlined statements. In these moments of freedom, the collection becomes yet another expression of Louis Vuitton’s embrace of travel. When the Twist bag adorned with kabuki stickers appears at Alicia’s side, it’s as though she is holding onto a future memento.
