In partnership with Chadstone - The Fashion Capital, discover a hand selected collection of objects and documents from the Louis Vuitton archives in Time Capsule Exhibition until 21 March only.
Travelling from 1854 to the present days, visitors will embark on a journey that revisits landmark innovations on technology and design through the history of the luxury House. Every weekend from April 27th to June 2nd, La Galerie will reopen its doors to the public presenting a new exhibition: Time Capsule.
This new atelier was built in the ethereal Eiffel style, combining glass and steel. The exceptional savoir-faire of the Asnières artisans is such that, even today, key pieces are created here: rigid trunks, designs in rare or exotic leathers, special orders.
From within its “Galérie” in Asnières, Louis Vuitton presents the newly installed Time Capsule, a journey through the history of the House that revisits its landmark innovations in technology and design. Travelling from the House’s beginnings in 1854 to the present day, the story is told using rare and celebrated objects selected from the Louis Vuitton archive.
The exhibition follows a visual timeline of landmark moments in the Louis Vuitton story, demonstrating the ways in which Louis Vuitton has anticipated the needs and desires of a changing world over 160 years generated by technological progress, with imaginative and ingenious new creations. In Time Capsule, heirloom designs live alongside some of the House’s most contemporary pieces, highlighting the ongoing commitment to constant innovation.
Visit Asnières to discover the intimate aspects of Louis Vuitton’s history, its ties with the ateliers, and admire in detail the presence of the Louis Vuitton universe in every creation.Asnières Galerie
Louis Vuitton opens in Florence a temporary store dedicated to the Women and Men Spring-Summer 2018 collections.
Located in Piazza Strozzi, in the heart of ancient Florence and very close to the historical Louis Vuitton boutique which will be reopened at the end of 2018, the temporary store offers ready-to-wear, leather goods and accessories from the Women and Men Spring-Summer 2018 collection.
Walls and furniture are dressed in a floral pattern that also returns on all the precious jackets of the Women's collection: the result is a totally immersive atmosphere in the sophisticated prints of the season.
The ceiling “a volte”, typical from the Florentine historical buildings, has been maintained intact, as tribute to a connection with the architecture of the territory, while the cement floor with a severe aspect creates a pleasant contrast with the delicate and sophisticated atmosphere of the whole store.
The product range of the store is completed by the Louis Vuitton fragrances and the Objets Nomades, the exclusive travel furniture created in collaboration with some of the most important international designers. The Cocoon by Campana Brothers, is integrated in the store’s furniture, giving a special and exclusive touch.Leather goods Louis Vuitton Florence Women's Spring-Summer 2018 Temporary Store
Until March 31st, Espace Louis Vuitton München presents the exhibition Animitas by French artist Christian Boltanski, in the framework of the Fondation Louis Vuitton « Hors-les-murs » project.
Showing four pieces from the Collection, this exhibition is centered on two video installations: Animitas (2014) and Animitas (Blanc) (2017).
Animitas is one of Boltanski’s most ambitious recent projects: creating outdoor installations within expanses of desert, using bells to echo the configuration of stars on the night of his birth: September 6, 1944. Animitas (2014) was shot in the desert of Atacama (Chile) and Animitas (Blanc) (2017) on Quebec’s Île d’Orléans (Canada). In Munich, Boltanski presents his films in conjunction with a flower bed and grey, crumpled papers, which evolve with time and people over the course of the exhibition.
Between the two Animitas installations, the words Départ and Arrivée glow along the visitor's path, summarizing what life is according to the artist: a departure, an arrival, separated by the passing time.
