Travelling from the House's beginnings in 1854 to the present day, the story is told using rare and celebrated objects selected from the Louis Vuitton archive.
Louis Vuitton has anticipated the needs and desires of a changing world over 160 years. As advances in transport have accelerated our movement around the world, so Louis Vuitton has continued to address new challenges faced by travelers with imaginative and ingenious creations.
The exhibition follows a visual timeline of landmark moments in the Louis Vuitton story, focusing on key aspects including: the Key to the Code, Journeys around the World, Elegance in Motion and Icons of the House. Artisans from the workshop in France demonstrate traditional leatherwork skills that remain as relevant today as they have in the past century.
This is the 40th year since Louis Vuitton opened its first store in Japan. At this exhibition held in this commemorable year, a handpicked selection of objects further celebrate the House’s past and present links with Japan.
