Virgil Abloh’s signature bold chains bring a breath of fresh air to the LVforUNICEF collection and renews Louis Vuitton’s promise to helping the most vulnerable children.
In continuation of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton is committed to raising awareness and funds for UNICEF to support the most vulnerable children around the world. By purchasing the Silver Lockit designed by Virgil Abloh, clients have the opportunity to support UNICEF's work in disaster -affected countries and reaching children in vulnerable situations. The Silver Lockit is inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings. Since the launch of the Silver Lockit, the Louis Vuitton for UNICEF partnership has raised nearly ten million US$ for UNICEF to help children at risk. Join us. #MAKEAPROMISE #LVforUNICEF

Our goal is to help provide care and protection to the world’s most vulnerable children exposed to conflicts, diseases, natural disasters and other issues that threaten their safety and well-being. Louis Vuitton makes a promise to help these children through its support to UNICEF.
Louis Vuitton is a House that treasures its past, while embracing the future. Louis Vuitton has always been a family business, transmitting values from generation to generation. Over the course of many years, we have naturally come to the wish to support children worldwide. Children are the future of the world and nothing is more precious than childhood. We would like to provide help and care to those who are in urgent need.
Together with employees and customers, Louis Vuitton is building a community of supporters and actively raising funds throughout the year for children caught up in humanitarian crises. Louis Vuitton has specially designed a product for this purpose and will organize fundraising activities through ad-hoc events (internally and externally). We will use our assets to communicate and raise awareness worldwide. Funds raised through this campaign will be donated to UNICEF to help children in urgent need.
The Silver Lockit has been specially designed and created by Louis Vuitton for this campaign. We see the Silver Lockit as a symbol of commitment and protection. It is a token of our promise to help children and we hope you will share this promise with us. You can get involved by:
The pinky promise is a tradition very popular among children in Eastern Asia. It has also existed in the United States since the 19th century. It is most common among school age children and close friends. You can make a pinky promise by entwining pinkies (little fingers) with another person. This signifies that a promise had been made and sealed. These are promises that come straight from the heart and which are considered almost as a vowel.
Children often show us a simple way to change the world. When they make a promise, they mean it; they seal it with a pinky promise. They make trust, commitment and friendship meaningful. We took inspiration from children themselves, and we ask people to join in our promise to help children in urgent need. We believe that together, we are stronger, and that together, we can make a real difference. This is why we encourage people to show and share their commitment with a pinky promise. We hope this will contribute in raising awareness and also funds for children in emergency situations around the world.
With $200, you can help UNICEF provide the range of support needed which includes the following:
Louis Vuitton is not entitled to operate a tax refund for the sales of the charity product. However, if you make a direct donation to UNICEF, depending on the country you operate from and on the local tax legislation, you may receive a tax deduction for the donation you made.
UNICEF believes that every child born into this world has the right to a childhood and a fair chance in life. But for millions of children, their rights are brutally violated and their hopes destroyed nowhere is the harsh reality more apparent than in the lives of children caught up in humanitarian crises. Funds raised by Louis Vuitton will help enable UNICEF to bring support and assistance to at least tens of thousands of children affected by natural disasters, conflicts and diseases.
