SEE LV Exhibition in Hangzhou

Louis Vuitton presents SEE LV, an immersive journey through the Maison’s 160-year-old history at Hangzhou.

After the travelling exhibition’s first stop and worldwide inauguration in Wuhan in 2020, SEE LV is unveiled in Hangzhou, a city famous for its rich cultural heritage and modern vibrancy. Mixing archival objects from the Maison’s Heritage Collection with recent creations, SEE LV allows visitors to delve deep into the universe of Louis Vuitton through immersive and digital experiences. Uncovering all facets of Louis Vuitton’s history and creations through a contemporary lens, the exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of modern collections and early twentieth-century trunks, artistic collaborations and iconic leather creations.

Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a portrait of young Louis Vuitton conceived by artist Refik Anadol using Artificial Intelligence. Looking deeper into the Maison’s world of fashion, the exhibition continues to a room featuring a reverse-chronology selection of ready-to-wear pieces from Nicolas Ghesquière and Virgil Abloh, the Maison’s Artistic Directors for Women’s and Men’s Collections respectively. From the Steamer Trunk to the Speedy, bags have been part of the Maison’s story since the beginning. Here, a wall of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags and images of their celebrity friends such as Kris Wu, Alicia Vikander, display how these signature shapes have continued to inspire throughout the times. Next, an entire room is dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s major contributions to the invention of luggage typologies, ranging from the iconic Wardrobe trunk to the more recent Skateboard trunk. Within a full-size skate ramp, journey across the centuries to see how the Maison’s ingenious and elegant solutions have evolved to meet the demanding rigors during various transportation epochs.

Guests including Ouyang Nana, Gong Jun, Zhou Ye and Wang Feifei share their first impressions on the new exhibition devoted to the Maison’s history.
