Travel Book Mediterranean Sea Artist Edition

Call for inquiry

The Louis Vuitton Travel Book collection is an invitation to real and virtual voyages. In its pages, the illustrations of renowned artists and promising young talents tell the stories of the cities and countries they have visited, depicting each place’s varied architecture and special light, and recording the passing days and the lives of its people. The Travel Book offers a new, contemporary vision of travel, taking in both remote wildernesses and cities that never sleep. Each artist explores a destination in a medium of their choosing. The creative worlds on show are highly diverse: drawing, painting, collage, contemporary art, illustration, cartoons or manga. In this volume, French artist and illustrator Aurore de la Morinerie explores the Mediterranean Sea, the world's largest inland sea and its ecosystem, from the deepest abysses to the surface. Nature is ever-present in the work of the artist, who was born in Saint-Lô in 1962. She also takes black and white photographs, which are integral to her drawing practice. While studying fashion design at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris, Aurore de la Morinerie became fascinated with Chinese painting and calligraphy, which have had a profound influence on her work. Since the 1990s, she has regularly collaborated with luxury brands and prominent designers, and her work has featured in prestigious fashion magazines, as well as in group and solo exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world. This special Artist's Edition belongs to a limited, numbered edition of 30 copies, and includes an etching printed, signed and numbered by Aurore de la Morinerie.
