The living legacy of Louis Vuitton is one of an ongoing journey. It begins in 1835 with a young man named Louis Vuitton leaving his hometown in the Jura region of France, no older than 14, and crossing the country for two years before arriving to Paris where he apprenticed for an estimable trunk maker and packer. “Visionary Journeys” offers a dynamic encounter with many of these stories, recontextualising the House’s heritage and storytelling as a scenographic experience that conveys the breadth and thematic diversity of Louis Vuitton. From January 3 to April 30, the exhibition celebrates the 20th anniversary of the era-defining collaboration of Louis Vuitton with Takashi Murakami, that brought together the House’s unrelenting commitment to creativity with the world-famous Japanese artist’s imaginative world
