Somsak Chaituch (born in 1967) hails from the hills of Northern Thailand, where he spent his early years in a small bamboo shed. His artistic talent was first recognized during his primary school years. At the age of 27, Somsak Chaituch came to the Netherlands to pursue studies in the arts. Following his bachelor's degree from the Utrecht Academy of Arts, he continued his education and earned a Master of Fine Arts title from the Dutch Art Institute at Twente University in 2003.
