Environmental Transition
As part of our Regeneration 2030 roadmap, the environmental transition adopts a holistic approach across climate and biodiversity, while elevating water as a new strategic focus, integrating these priorities throughout the value chain and in collaboration with a broad network of partners.

Environmental Transition
[ en-vahy-ruhn-men-tltran-zi-shuhn ] noun.
A paradigm shift in humanity’s relationship with nature, moving beyond preservation toward regenerating ecosystems, restoring climate stability and protecting water resources through collective action for present and future generations.

Climate
We commit to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain. Louis Vuitton’s decarbonization trajectory contributes to LVMH’s global climate trajectory, aligned with the Paris Agreement and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We take responsibility for our full carbon footprint — across all activities worldwide and scopes 1, 2, and 3 — with a holistic transition plan spanning from raw materials to stores.
Objective by 2030:
-68% CO₂ emissions from our sites (Scopes 1 & 2, vs 2023)

Biodiversity
Recognizing that preservation alone is no longer sufficient, we commit to supporting ecosystem regeneration through biodiversity programs such as our partnership with People For Wildlife and by developing supply chains for strategic natural raw materials sourced from regenerative agriculture and free from deforestation. In 2023, the House launched a program to progressively integrate leather from regenerative agriculture, while advancing dedicated supply chains for regenerative cotton, wool, and perfumery beet alcohol.
Objective by 2030:
1 million hectares of flora and fauna habitat restored or preserved.

Water
Given growing pressure on water resources in many regions, Louis Vuitton commits to reducing water consumption and improving water quality across its value chain. The House focuses on increasing water efficiency quality in its operations, while working with partners to strengthen water resilience across its supply chain and support local water cycles in vulnerable regions.
Objectives by 2030:
-30% reduced water consumption across our sites (vs 2019).
100% of our sites implement a sustainable water management program.
Louis Vuitton & People For Wildlife
In 2023 we joined forces with the conservation charity People For Wildlife in a 5-year environmental partnership to maintain and rehabilitate biodiversity in a 400,000-hectare area in Northeastern Australia.
